How We Work
Free Arts recruits, screens, and trains hundreds of community volunteers who go through required training at our offices each year, sharing our "ART HEALS!" philosophy. These trained volunteers then bring direct-service creative arts programs to abused, homeless, and at-risk children and their families at nearly 50 partner agency sites. Free Arts’ partner agencies include residential care facilities, domestic violence shelters, low-income housing communities, family resource centers and courthouses throughout greater Los Angeles, including Orange County. If you represent an organization serving abused, homeless or at-risk youth and their families and are interested in becoming a Free Arts partner agency, please call our Program Director at (310) 313-4278 or click here to send an e-mail. “When the crayons come out, the drawing, the painting, the gluing…it makes our kids happy. This program makes our kids glow.” - Stephanie Cisneros, Staff Member, Venice Community Housing Corp. “There are a lot of strengths Free Arts has. The main one is the enthusiasm and positivity that the volunteers come with. They give their full energy to the clients, building their self-esteem.” - Olivia Hernandez, Staff Member, Little Peoples World |
