Parents and Children Together with Art (PACT) Program, Art for Family Bonding

The PACT Program allows at-risk families to bond and develop communication skills as they work on family-centered art projects. Meeting once a week for 1.5 hours, each individual PACT program takes place over the course of eight consecutive weeks with about 5 to 15 families participating.

Families work together on projects such as family trees, dream boxes, family member sculptures and 3-D desert islands. This program draws primarily on the visual arts. Discussions about the projects allow family members to get to know one another better and share their hopes for the future.

A volunteer team provides a safe, non-judgmental environment, modeling positive communication through their interactions with one another.
